Paving the Path to University Program

Given the inadequate academic preparation in orphanages and lack of resources available to orphans, Sublimitas supports university-bound orphans in Ukraine to prepare for the university entrance exams and higher education through intensive tutoring. Our tutors are experienced teachers who provide academic and mentoring support to orphans and are compensated for their tutoring services. This intensive tutoring enables orphans to develop their academic knowledge and skills; enhance their self-esteem and confidence; prepare for university entrance exams and apply to universities to pursue their dreams; and improve their overall wellbeing through higher education, which can ultimately interrupt the cycle of social reproduction of poverty, homelessness, and incarceration among the most socio-economically marginalized in Ukraine.

Paving the Path to University program application requirements:

  • Legal status of an orphan or child deprived of parental care

  • Personal statement/motivation letter

  • Grade point average minimum 9 out of 12

  • Demonstrated motivation to pursue higher education

  • Selected candidates will be invited for a Skype interview.
